Well, don't really know where to start from. I must admit, there's been quite a long time since last update but for me the time has literally flown away.

Image

It was always tomorrow to do something...tomorrow I'll upload some information, but tomorrow came with new assignments, day after tomorrow I've been dead tired, the day after a bit lazy, then didn't have quality photos...and day after day May came along with time to pack all the necessities and to sail into a new season with almost completely new boat.

Almost means changing or checking everything but vital parts like hull, deck, structure, the fin of the keel.

Winter was very busy and never warmer, as well as it was first part of the spring time. 232 with its new name „Marina Tribunj“ spent winter in a shed in Vodice with enormous help from Stanko Birin and Kreso Celner from Trgocolor. Karmelo Mrsa, a.k.a Kimer and myself have literally unscrewed all screws from the boat, replaced everything which needed to be replaced and spent uncounted working hours.

While painting hull great help came from Nedjeljko Stipanicev – Tic from Tribunj, „maestro“ when we speak of paintjob. Famous Croatian Laser sailor Mate Arapov made a new lighter keel bulb because we improved stability a lot with a new carbon mast with pbo rigging. New Dustom main and solent were made too and the boat is quite faster now especially in conditions of light wind. We are really looking forward first classe mini regattas.

After very successful past season and promotion of this different way of sailing in Croatia, great interest was shown for my boat and project which is great encouragement for keeping it going!

Due to new ISAF offshore regulations for off-coastal regattas, skipper and at least 30 % of crew members need to have completed ISAF stage course for rescue at sea. Since these courses are not held in Croatia, I've finished it in Quiberone, France. Course was held by fabulous Thierry Dubois, winner of the Mini Transat 1993. Dubois is also known after the accident at Vendee Globe 1996 when he capsized with his open 60 in the south ocean, half way between Australia and Antarctic and spent hours in it. Before he was rescued by Australian navy he spent three days at the rescue raft. Anyway, man over experienced was talking about importance of safety equipment in person, and more important...he has showed us in practice. And, as it's always in Mini class, all lectures were in French. All communication - with organizers, directions for regattas, skippers meetings, communication at sea - are in French...so there was no other choice than to parler franįais !

Some new sponsors have entered the project - Ultra sailing from Split, Profil international –publishing company from Zagreb. Also, cooperation with present sponsors is renewed.
