Sime Stipanicev
Lately, he is trying to popularize classe Mini and ocean recing in Croatia. One of editors of croatian Web portal about sea and sailing www.morsko-prase.hr hobbies: running, scuba diving, olive oil production, music Darko Prizmic Mechanical engineer and sailing coach, gradueted in University for physical education, Zagreb. Started sailing very young in yacht club Peliska jedra on penninsula Peljesac with captain Branko Pesut onboard his legendary Manu Pokis. Later he's owner and skipper of Silvana, 9.5 meter sailboat with which he sailed and won many Croatian regattas including doublehanded Susac 100x2. For the last three years he is skipper of 14 meter IMX 45 sailboat AA (owned by company Adria Azija) with which he sailed around 60 regattas on Croatian and Italian coast including two offshore IMS world championships (Capri 2004, Mahon 2005). In the races she completed, AA mostly won first places (in group, IMS, ORC or OPEN divison). He is two times winner of singlehanded offshore St. Nicholas regatta and winner of “the best skipper in 2005” prize aswell as “racer of the year award”
Composites Naval architect and long time sailor and national representative in 1M class. Vjeko is one of few Croatian experts in design and constuction of composite products for marine industry. His speciality is construction in carbon and epoxy resin and technology of autoclave. After return from New Zealand where he worked for the the world’s greates producer of carbon masts, Southern spars, he opened his own company for carbon composites, Fibraspars located in Split, Croatia. He is the maker of the first Croatian carbon mast ever. With his mast Swiss sailor Tobias Hochreutener participated in and finished Mini Transat 2005.
4Ocean tim Kristian Hajnsek and Andraz Mihelin are leaders of the new Slovenian wave in offshore sailing. With the Mini Transat 2005 project they stepped into company of very few people from our region that raced across the Atlantic. Currently they are running very professional MT 2007 campaign and they are of great help and support for project Cro Ocean.
Dr. sc.Darko Stipanicev Professor at Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Machine Engineering and Naval Architecture University of Split. Teaching and doing research in various computer science and electrical engineering areas. Advanced Internet technologies and Internet based systems are few of them. Amateur sailor from 1982, sailing a lot, particularly in Adriatic, but also in south England waters and across the Spanish west coast. Today he sails with 27'' cruiser. Dr. sc.Jure Jerman In 1994. he graduated in meteorology in the Faculty of matematics and physics, University of Ljubljana. The same year he was employed in the hidrometeorological department of Republic Slovenia. His speciality is numerical modelling of weather and he is member of international project for weather forecasting “Aladin”. As a sailor he competed in many regattas: two world and three european championships in olimpic class Soling, two times in student world championships, two times Rimini – Krf – Rimini race and many other… So far he was meteo consultant in crews of Veliki Viharnik, Gaia Legend, AAG Big One and 4ocean team.
Nautcal engineer and Croatian olimpic sailor from Sydney 2000 in 470 class. Together with his brother Ivan, coach of 2004 Olimpic 470 team, he dominated Croatian 470 class for 10 years. He competed in Mediterranean games, numerous world, european, grade 1 regattas. For the last couple of years he was skipper of professional sailing team “Citroen” on Asso 99 sailboat with remarkable success.
Darko Zovko Electonic engineer, founder and director of 4th dimension software company located in Zagreb, Croatia. Their most popular product is 4D wand, softare for organisation and accounting of small and medium companies. In free time he is passionate about sailing and skiing.
